Eric & Katie

We love playing weddings, and we are especially honored when a fellow musician asks us to be a part of his or her special day. Tonight, we were thrilled to play for the wedding reception of two musicians! The groom, Eric, is a violinist, and his bride, Katie, plays the flute.

Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple!

Shea & Michael

Ahhh, the Fragrance Garden at Red Butte Garden. Luscious. That's where Shea and Michael chose to hold their wedding ceremony. Their wedding officiate, Susan Seare was my favorite officiate to date. I had never before met the bride or groom before their wedding day, but Ms. Seare told such rich, comical, personal stories and anecdotes during the ceremony that I felt like we were all lifelong friends. She included a lovely mix of personal touches and life wisdom; I was entranced with this beautiful event.

Shea and Michael's musical selections:
Groom's processional: Rondeau by Jean-Joseph Mouret
Wedding party processional: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Johann S. Bach
Bride's processional: Te Deum by Marc-Antoine Charpentier (new music for us!)
Recessional: Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 by Johann S. Bach

Wisteria Creek

Tonight we played at a gorgeous backyard wedding and reception at Wisteria Creek in Lehi. There were giant bunches of fragrant, pastel roses, a canopy of white lights, antique indoor decor brought outside, and old time lanterns around the expansive yard behind the mansion (which belongs to the bride; she organizes events).

We played Lullaby by Holfeldt for the wedding party processional, Pachelbel's Canon for the bride, and Bach's Brandenburg Concerto for the recessional while the bride high-fived her guests as she walked back down the aisle.

For the reception, we moved to the white gazebo, which offered great acoustics for us! We played fun dance music interspersed with classical pieces.

When our portion of the party was over, I got in my car to leave, and as I checked my mirrors, I saw a horse and carriage proceeding down the street toward me. So fitting of the romantic evening we had just enjoyed!

St. Regis, Deer Valley Reception

Strings of Elegance played for a beautiful reception on the Garden Terrace at the St. Regis in Deer Valley. We love this location as there is something so nice about playing beautiful music in the mountains.
We played a wide variety of classical, romantic, and popular pieces that fit the mood of this elegant reception.

The ride up the mountain on the funicular is, well. . . fun.

Natalie & Emilio

When we walked into the Scholarship room on the 4th floor of Rice-Eccles Stadium, we were stunned. The black and white decor was so classy with an accent of fresh, summery green. We played a selection of classical and romantic music while guests enjoyed a lovely meal and a spectacular view. The bride and groom visited with their friends and family as we serenaded them. Just a few minutes before we finished, the grandmother of the bride finally asked her to sit down and eat something.

A DJ took over as we left so the wedding party could step out onto the dance floor. The sunset that night was breathtaking. With their expansive view to the west, I'm sure the fiery show did not go unnoticed by the happy couple.

Heidi & Andrew

I returned home with my hair smelling of campfire, which is a glorious thing. Is there anything better than the crisp evening air of the mountains? This wedding turned out to be one of our very favorite gigs.

The bride and her two adorable flower girls walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon in D. She wore a beautiful lace gown and greeted her handsome groom at the alter. They were married before an intimate group of family and friends, then they took their first steps as husband and wife as we played Bach's Brandenburg Concerto.

After taking photos, the group sat down to a delicious dinner while we continued playing joyful music. I know it was delicious because the bride and groom invited us to join them for their celebratory meal. We took a short break to enjoy our vittles, then resumed with our repertoire. At this point, most of the guests were inside the Inn for the cutting of the cake, so we serenaded three little dancing girls with Sleeping Beauty Waltz, Three Little Maids From School, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, and Anne's Theme from Anne of Green Gables. We love our job!

Barlow Reception

We were thrilled to be invited to play for another wedding reception at this Layton residence — we played for the bride's sister's reception a few years ago. The bride and groom looked stunning and happy. We played a variety of pieces to fit the mood of the party which included Tchaicovsky's Sleeping Beauty Waltz so some of the little girls at the reception could dance... so cute!

Cromar Hall Wedding

Spring is such a beautiful time of year for an outdoor wedding. We provided ceremony music for an intimate wedding at Tuscany Restaurant in Holladay today. Surrounded by their closest friends and Family the bride and groom tied the knot in the garden outside the restaurant.

The couple chose Handel's Water Music for their processional. The bride and her Father walked down the aisle to Canon in D. The beauty of the outdoors mixed with the program and music created an atmosphere of love and a memorable day.
